Halal certificate

For most Gulf buyers, the Halal certificate is a non-negotiable part of the document set.

In short: A Halal certificate confirms that handling meets Halal requirements; it is standard for Gulf markets and issued with every such consignment.

A Halal certificate is a document issued by a recognised certifying body confirming that a product and its handling comply with Islamic (Halal) requirements. For table eggs, which are inherently Halal as a product, the certification focuses on the handling, storage and supply-chain conditions, and it is a formal requirement for import and retail in much of the Gulf and other Muslim-majority markets.

In practice, buyers in markets such as the UAE, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Malaysia expect a Halal certificate alongside the veterinary health certificate and certificate of origin, and some markets recognise specific certifying bodies. We provide Halal certification as standard on shipments to those markets and align it with each destination expectations. Where Halal is available on request rather than mandatory, as in several South Asian and Far East markets, we issue it when the buyer asks. Clarifying the required certifying body early avoids clearance delays.
